How to send files bigger than Discord allows
Upload the file elsewhere and post the link. Discord takes 20 MB per file on a free account, 50 MB with Nitro Basic and 1 GB with Nitro. A clip, a mod pack or a game build is usually far bigger, and a transfer link works for everyone in the server.
The limits, in numbers
| Discord, free account | 20 MB per file | Discord Support |
|---|---|---|
| Discord Nitro Basic | 50 MB per file | Discord Support |
| Discord Nitro | Up to 1 GB per file | Discord Support |
| Yungle, free | Up to 10 GB per transfer, kept 7 days, no account |
Limits from each company’s own help pages, checked on 13 October 2026. They change; the linked page is the authority.
How to send it
- 1Upload the clip or file to yungle.co and copy the link.
- 2Paste it in the channel. Everyone can download it, whatever their Discord plan.
- 3The link works for 7 days on the free tier.
Questions, answered.
Ask us something elseWhy won’t Discord upload my clip?
Free accounts can upload 20 MB per file. A minute of 1080p video can be past that, so the upload is refused.
Will the video lose quality?
Not through a link: the original file is delivered as you recorded it.
Can I share game mods this way?
Yes. Zip the mod folder and send one link; every file and folder arrives the way you packed it.
