For privacy-minded people
Send a file without becoming the product.
No ads, no trackers, nothing about you for sale. Yungle is paid for by subscriptions, and that is the only arrangement where free doesn’t eventually mean something is being sold.
Freelance translator
A week with Elif.
Monday
Her own paperwork, out of the inbox.
Passport, contract, tax return: into the vault, sealed in the browser with a passphrase Yungle never receives. Nothing in there can ever be shared by accident.
VaultTuesday
A certificate that nobody else should read.
A client’s birth certificate goes back end-to-end encrypted: the key travels in the link itself and never reaches Yungle’s servers. It’s free, and it’s a tick box.
Secure sharingThursday
Everyday files, still encrypted.
Ordinary translations go as normal transfers — always encrypted, each file with its own key, on servers in Germany, with no ads on the download page.
Transfers
Where the line is
- Ordinary transfers and collections are encrypted with keys we hold. That is what allows previews and virus scanning. Use end-to-end encryption or the vault when that matters.
- An end-to-end encrypted transfer cannot be emailed to recipients or given a password: whoever has the link has the key, so send it through a channel you trust.
Questions, answered.
Ask us something elseCan Yungle read my files?
Ordinary files are encrypted with keys we hold, so the system can scan them for viruses and make previews; nobody browses them. End-to-end encrypted transfers and the vault use keys that never reach us, so we cannot open those.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. Yungle is paid for by subscriptions only: there are no ads in Yungle and nothing is built on what you upload. The one thing we report is to OpenAI, and only for someone who arrived from our ad in ChatGPT: that the ad led to a sign-up or a plan, with nothing about who they are.
What do you log about me?
What running the service needs: your email if you have an account, and download receipts on your own transfers. Page statistics are cookieless and do not identify you.
Can I use Yungle for personal data under the GDPR?
Yes. The data processing agreement is published for every account, files and their backups stay with Hetzner, a German company, in Germany and Finland, and the sub-processors are listed in the privacy policy. The six-point checklist to hold any service to is in our GDPR guide.
