1. The service
Yungle lets you send files via time-limited transfer links and, on a paid plan, organize them into shareable collections. Files are encrypted at rest and stored in the EU on Hetzner. Free transfers are capped at 5 GB and expire after 7 days; paid plans provide 250 GB (Yungle Leaf) or 1 TB (Yungle Tree) of storage, and collection content does not expire while the plan is active. You may set an expiry date on a collection yourself.
2. Accounts
Accounts use passwordless email sign-in. You are responsible for the security of your email inbox, as anyone with access to it can sign in. You must be at least 16, or the age of digital consent in your country, to create an account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Yungle to store, send, or share:
- Content that is illegal under EU or applicable national law, including CSAM, which we report to the competent authorities.
- Material that infringes someone else’s copyright or other intellectual-property rights.
- Malware, phishing kits, or content intended to defraud or harm others.
- Unsolicited bulk messaging (spam) or content that harasses or endangers others.
We operate a notice-and-action process under the EU Digital Services Act. Anyone can flag content via the “Report” link on a shared page. On a valid report we may remove content by cryptographically shredding its encryption keys, rendering it permanently unrecoverable, and may suspend the responsible account.
4. Fair use
Plans are sold on storage: how much you may keep, not how much you may move. There is no bandwidth cap in any plan, no per-transfer or per-month download limit, and we do not throttle downloads. We do measure how much data each account serves, so that we can see what the service costs to run. In normal use — sending files, and people you sent them to downloading them — you will never encounter this section.
It exists for the rare case where an account’s traffic stops resembling that: using Yungle as a content-delivery network or public file host, embedding links in a high-traffic site or application, or automated downloading at a volume no recipient could account for. Bandwidth is our largest variable cost, and one account behaving this way is paid for by everyone else’s subscription.
If that happens we will contact you first and work out a fair arrangement. We may limit download speed, or suspend the account, only where the traffic is causing a material cost or degrading the service for others and the problem has not been resolved after we get in touch. We will not act on this section without telling you.
5. Your content
You keep all rights to the files you upload. You grant Yungle only the limited, technical permissions needed to store, encrypt, transmit, generate previews of, and deliver your files at your direction. We do not sell your content or use it to train models.
6. Payment & renewal
Paid plans are €5 per month (Yungle Leaf, 250 GB) or €15 per month (Yungle Tree, 1 TB), billed through Mollie, with an annual option at nine months' price for twelve months. Workspace members are €5 each per month on any paid plan. Plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can switch between plans at any time from your account. You can cancel any time from your account; access continues until the end of the paid period. We never delete paid data without notice — a lapsed subscription enters a grace period with reminders before any content is affected.
7. Availability & liability
We work hard to keep Yungle available and your data safe, but the service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, Yungle is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under EU consumer law. Keep your own copies of important files.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time, which erases your files and keys immediately. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or the law.
9. Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Questions: legal@yungle.co.
