What stays your responsibility
- Health data is special-category data under the GDPR. Whether Yungle is appropriate for a given kind of patient data is your assessment, and your data protection officer’s.
- Yungle is a file transfer service, not a patient record system, and is not built to replace one.
- Ordinary transfers are encrypted with keys Yungle holds. Use end-to-end encrypted transfers for patient data if your assessment requires that the service cannot read it.
- Yungle holds no certification of its own; its host Hetzner runs ISO 27001 certified data centres. There is no service level agreement.

Not through Yungle’s own email: the link carries the key, so emailing it from our servers would defeat the point. Copy the link and send it through a channel you trust.
Is there a data processing agreement?
Yes. It is published on the site and applies to every account.
How long are files kept?
Free transfers are deleted after 7 days. With an account you set the expiry yourself, and you can delete a file at any time.
