How to send large design files
Send layered files as they are, through a transfer link: flattening or exporting to JPEG throws away the layers the recipient needs. A layered Photoshop file easily passes the 20 to 35 MB that email allows, and very large canvases need Photoshop’s large document format (PSB). Yungle sends up to 10 GB free.
The limits, in numbers
| Photoshop PSD, largest canvas | 30,000 pixels per side | Adobe Photoshop file format |
|---|---|---|
| Photoshop PSB (large document format) | 300,000 pixels per side | Adobe Photoshop file format |
| Figma, memory per file in the browser | 2 GB, locked at 100% | Figma Help Center |
| Gmail attachment | 25 MB per message | Gmail Help |
| Yungle, free | Up to 10 GB per transfer, kept 7 days, no account |
Limits from each company’s own help pages, checked on 13 October 2026. They change; the linked page is the authority.
How to send it
- 1Save the working file with layers (PSD, PSB or AI) and collect linked images and fonts into the same folder.
- 2Drop the folder on yungle.co; the structure is kept.
- 3Send it by email or as a link. Clients without the app can still open the previews in their browser.
Questions, answered.
Ask us something elseShould I send PSD or PSB?
PSD for canvases up to 30,000 pixels a side; past that Photoshop needs PSB. If the recipient’s software cannot open PSB, agree on a format before you send.
Can clients see the design without Photoshop?
Send a PDF or PNG proof alongside the working file. On Yungle, images get previews in the browser, so a client can look before they download.
Why is my Figma file slow or locked?
Figma limits how much memory one file may use in the browser and locks it when the limit is reached. Splitting it into pages or files, or exporting assets, is Figma’s own advice.
